Hatha Yoga simply refers to that form of yoga that uses physical postures to stimulate the various parts of the body. It includes various types of yoga. This yoga deals with the two components of “Ha” that refers to the Sun and “Tha” that denotes the Moon. Therefore, Hatha Yoga is known as the yoga of balance that is usually practiced to align the mind, body, and Spirit and calm them in the best possible manner.
A Vinyasa yoga practice connects individual poses or “asanas” with deep breaths or “pranayama” in a series of flowing sequences of movement. Classes are designed to progressively open the body through building off of previous sequences, evolving into deeper postures as the practice unfolds. The entire practice cultivates a deep sense of mindfulness, self-connection and ease. Typical components of a Vinyasa yoga class include a range of standing, seated and supine poses, twists, balancing postures, forward folds, inversions, back bends and targeted core strengthening. Vinyasa yoga can be practiced at any level. Yogis can expect to experience increased flexibility, strength, stability, and overall calmness and clarity.
Pranayama is the formal practice of controlling the breath, which is the source of our prana, or vital life force. The practice of pranayama involves breath exercises and patterns. You purposely inhale, exhale, and hold your breath in a specific sequence. In yoga, pranayama is used with other practices like physical postures and meditation. Together, these practices are responsible for the many benefits of yoga. People practice breathwork for a variety of reasons and there are several breathwork approaches. Overall, it’s thought to bring about improvements in emotional state and to decrease levels of stress. You may want to try out a few different techniques over time to see which type most resonates with you and brings about the best results.
In a restorative yoga practice, the focus is not on stretching or strengthening but on releasing. Restorative yoga is incredibly supportive for our nervous system and overall stress levels. The majority of the restorative yoga poses are practiced resting on the back or side, fully supported by props, and are held for extended periods of time to allow for deep rest and surrender. Restorative yoga helps balance the mind and body, relieve tension and anxiety, improve the immune system, stretch deep fascia, increase flexibility and pave the way for meditation. Restorative yoga is suitable for practitioners of all levels.
Meditation cultivates self-awareness, and provides the optimum conditions for practicing the skill of mindfulness. Meditation allows practitioners to observe patterns of the mind and to notice the interrupting thoughts, eventually leading to longer gaps between them over time. Regular practice enables deep concentration to occur naturally and more frequently. There are many forms of the practice but the key point is that, through it all, we train in being open and receptive to whatever arises.
Explore a relaxing, slower-paced yoga practice that is challenging in a different way. Yin yoga helps to stimulate the deep connective tissues through long-held, passive stretching, which improves flexibility, restores joint range of motion, and cultivates peace of mind. The majority of the Yin poses are done while sitting or lying down and postures are held for three to five minutes or more at a time. This class is beneficial for all levels. Yogis will leave this class feeling lighter, clearer and completely relaxed.
This invigorating flow yoga class is designed for those who want to deepen their practice by exploring more dynamic and challenging methods of practice. Expect unique flowing sequences and learn to stay self-aware and calm in the midst of challenge. Yogis can gain a strong sense of connection to the physical body through the postures in power yoga. This class is recommended for intermediate to advanced practitioners.
During a sound healing session, various healing instruments, including gongs and crystal singing bowls are used to create a meditative and healing experience for the mind and body. Participants relax by lying down on a mat with their eyes closed while focusing on their breath. The different vibrations and frequencies created heighten the receiver’s awareness and allows their bodies to heal and re-tune from within.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that encourages physical, mental, and emotional well-being and offers a much-needed balance to the more physical aspects of yoga. Yoga Nidra provides a systematic relaxation technique for everyone, but can be especially helpful for those suffering from chronic stress, anxiety, or insomnia. Experience deep relaxation and release on multiple levels. No prior yoga experience necessary.
The combination of Kundalini and Hatha Yoga offers a holistic approach to well-being. Hatha Yoga strengthens and stretches the body through physical postures, while Kundalini Yoga focuses on awakening and balancing internal energy through breathwork, mantras, and meditation. Together, these practices promote tension release, emotional block removal, and enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
